Coffee and coffeehouses

The first coffeehouse in the West opened in Oxford in 1637.

In 1640, the famous FLORIAN opened in Venice, in 1650 the ANGEL in Oxford, in 1652 the PASCUA in London, in 1660 the café PROCOPE in Paris and finally, in 1685 the first coffeehouse opened in Vienna, in the city that still has the most renowned cafés in Europe.

The modern Greek coffeehouses are influenced by the big Greek coffeehouses of Constantinople and Europe and were designed according to them. They are places where people can meet and chat, exchange points of view and constantly analyze politics.
