Dandalis Company took its first steps about sixty years ago, when in 1952, its founder, Alekos Dandalis, opened his first coffee shop in the central market of Heraklion.
Foreseeing the upcoming developments, in 1977 he set up a coffee processing workshop in a building on Ant. Kastrinaki Street, where he ran his first coffee packaging machine, while, at the same time, he started to distribute packed coffee in the super and mini markets of the area. In 1986, with the support of his children and their involvement in the family business, he changed his company to a G.P. In 1990, while the demand for packed coffee was constantly increasing, they created a state-of-the-art plant in the Industrial Area of Heraklion, which covered 1,500 sq.m. on a building lot of 3,000 sq.m.
In 1993, as soon as the construction of the plant was completed, they started to equip it with the most advanced machinery in the global market, covering all fields of activity: import – processing – packaging – distribution of various types of Greek – Filter – Espresso coffee.
In 1995 the company became an SA and since then, it has been operating under the company name of ALEKOS DANDALIS & SONS COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL SA and the distinctive title “DANDALIS Coffee”. The company is run by Alekos Dandalis, President and CEO, Triantafyllos Dandalis, Vice-President and Ioannis Dandalis, partner and CFO. The excellent quality of the products that are marketed in Greece ranks the company among the greatest businesses in the processing of brand coffee in Greece.
In 2001, the company decided to enter the catering sector, began to co-operate with the Dutch company DOUWE EGBERTS and started to supply big hotels on Crete with coffee and other beverages. Today it has acquired a clear leading position in this market as well.
The company has 35 employees in its production and distribution departments and 8 people in the administration sector. After the new investment, the production capacity amounts to 8,500 kg. on a daily basis. On a local level, the company serves over 2,500 sales points via its own distribution network and wholesale trading.
Looking forward with optimism and confidence, Dandalis Company, after being in the market for 60 years as a leader in the supply of Greek coffee on Crete, keeps going ahead full sail; taking advantage of its past experience, the know-how and the qualified staff, it progresses on new, more challenging paths and objectives.
